Most of us have never had to worry about not having safe water to drink. We don’t have to walk miles every day to find a water source full of harmful bacteria or wait in line for hours to use a well. However, about 1 in 8 individuals don’t have access to this basic necessity and fight this battle daily. Charity: water explains how serious of a problem this is:
“Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of diseases and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.”
charity: water is an incredible organization striving to provide clean, safe water to individuals in third world countries and has successfully reached out to 1,742,331 people. Improvement and access to clean water can and has made a tremendous impact in the health of numerous lives.
“90% of the 42,000 deaths that occur every week from unsafe water and unhygienic living conditions are to children under five years old. Many of these diseases are preventable. The UN predicts that one tenth of the global disease burden can be prevented simply by improving water supply and sanitation.”
Get Involved: Donate, volunteer, or create a fundraising campaign and help give individuals access to this basic human need.

I think charity water is such a cool organization. It’s inspiring because it didn’t take a lot to start it up; yet it’s still making such an impact on the world.

It is so amazing how many lives could be saved from providing clean water to those who don’t have it. This is something we take soooo much for granted here, and yet, it’s the difference between life and death for others. Charity: Water is an incredible organization for taking the time to provide the water that so many people need.

Such an awesome organization. I didn’t really know what it was when I first saw one of the commercials for this organization on Hulu, but when I watched a video about it in one of my classes I was amazed. I totally want to do this thing for my birthday.

Yeah this is such an awesome effort that I think takes a lot of compassion to have such a strong desire and really devotion to bring quality drinking water to other parts of the world where this simple luxury doesn’t exist. That’s so awesome that you also have had personal experience with working in another country and see the joy from simple luxuries.

I liked this Video a lot. This video provides really good example for all of us, we all need to think how much we can do for the World. Many people in Africa are continually being blessed to have clean water in their life.
